Description

Port Eynon sits within the Gower Peninsula, the UK’s first designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, making it a perfect base for exploring the region’s dramatic coastline and diverse landscapes. The village is framed by the rugged headland of Port Eynon Point, a popular spot for walkers and wildlife watchers, and the atmospheric ruins of the old Salt House, which hark back to its smuggling past. Its sweeping sandy beach is ideal for swimming, kayaking, and rock pooling, while low tide reveals intriguing rock formations and tidal pools teeming with marine life.

Just beyond the village, the Gower Coast Path leads to some of South Wales’ most celebrated natural attractions. To the west lies Rhossili Bay, with its three miles of golden sand, iconic Worm’s Head tidal island, and dramatic cliff-top views. To the east, Oxwich Bay offers sheltered waters, a vast dune system, and a rich variety of birdlife. Together, these landscapes make Port Eynon an excellent destination for nature lovers, photographers, and anyone looking to experience the raw beauty of the Welsh coast.
