Description

Accessed by a single-track road, Achmelvich Bay offers excellent opportunities for spotting black and red throated divers, with occasional sightings of great-northern divers in winter.

The bay has also seen numerous sightings of porpoises, dolphins, and the occasional minke whale. With its stunning white sand beach, it's an ideal location for water sports and rock pool fishing.

Achmelvich Bay is a small, sheltered beach on the northwest coast of Scotland, near the village of Lochinver in Sutherland. It sits on the rugged shores of the Assynt region, famed for its dramatic mountains, turquoise waters, and white sand, and is part of the North West Highlands Geopark.
